The AARP Create the Good Hunger Effort
2010-10-25
Many of our community partners are at the forefront of fighting hunger in their communities. We are excited to let you know about The AARP Create the Good Hunger Effort, that can highlight your organization’s ongoing activities and promote your efforts to others in your area or let you know how to get involved and make a difference.
From October 25 through November 8, through the AARP Create The Good Hunger Effort, we are promoting ongoing food drives and promoting Food Stamp enrollment sites throughout the state. During this two-week time frame, we will be using our communications resources such as letters to our members, publicity through the AARP Bulletin, print PSAs and radio ads to build awareness around the issue of hunger and older adults, helping to ‘destigmatize’ the Food Stamp benefit and encourage volunteerism using our www.CreateTheGood.org/hunger website.
If we work together, we can help older adults and their families in your neighborhoods put nutritious food on the table. That is what the AARP Create The Good Hunger Effort is all about. Looking forward to working with you on this project! Please contact Wendy Prudencio at 212-407-3726 or wprudencio@aarp.org.
