IRB Approved (Jan. 7, 2010) Study Title: Saccades and Visuo-spatial Attention in Parkinson's Disease (PD): Gamma Synchrony and Sensory-Motor Interaction
The study is simple, painless, and not harmful EEG (electroencephalography - recordings of brain activity) and eye movements recordings. The study session will take about 1.5 hours. We would like to compare the brain responses of Parkinson's disease participants with those of healthy participants. Research is showing that cognitive training programs can help improve decision-making, short term memory, and language skills. Park Slope Geriatric Day Center (PSGDC) has followed the research and developed a computer center with "brain train" programs to help people in the early stages of memory loss.PSGDC's Memory Technology Center is now offering a time when any adult experiencing some memory loss, or adults who have been diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment, may use the Center at no charge.
