The Division of Dental Medicine at New York Methodist Hospital and the American Dental Association will sponsor Give Kids A Smile Day! on Friday, February 4, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Children, ages one to 16, are invited to attend and receive free dental screenings, including sealant placement, cleanings, x-rays and more, if applicable. Heart Disease and stroke are the number one and number three killers of women. More than 400,000 American women die annually from cardiovascular diseases. New York Methodist Hospital and the American Heart Association will sponsor Go Red for Women Day on Friday, February 4, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This event is open to the public. Obesity is an epidemic that impacts over nine million Americans. More and more people who are affected by obesity are seeking information about surgical weight reduction. New York Methodist Hospital offers a free Surgical Weight Reduction Information Seminar and Support Group. This month the group will meet on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and on Thursday, February 24, 2011 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. During the first 30 minutes of the seminar, a surgeon will conduct an information session for individuals who are interested in learning about the surgery. Healthy Volunteers 50 years old and older Needed for Electrophysiological Study.
Volunteers will be compensated for their participation.
IRB Approved (Jan. 7, 2010) Study Title: Saccades and Visuo-spatial Attention in Parkinson's Disease (PD): Gamma Synchrony and Sensory-Motor Interaction
The study is simple, painless, and not harmful EEG (electroencephalography - recordings of brain activity) and eye movements recordings. The study session will take about 1.5 hours. We would like to compare the brain responses of Parkinson's disease participants with those of healthy participants.
